State of the Art Performance Assessments: Tasks
There are two parts to a performance assessment -- rubrics and tasks. This session takes a fresh look at the task side of the equation. Instead of providing steps for the development of tasks (everyone does that), we take the position that before any development (or adapting) can occur, educators need to understand the features that make a performance task high quality. To that end, we have developed rubrics for sound tasks. These are illustrated with strong, middle and weak examples of tasks. Participants will practice analyzing sample tasks for quality using the rubrics.
